Travis County Criminal Complaint: Victor Gonzales, Incumbent and Candidate for City Council Place 5

It has come to the our attention that a Pflugerville resident has filed a criminal complaint to the Travis County District Attorney’s office today May 5th, 2009, against her opponent Victor Gonzales for violating the Texas Open Meetings Act (Section 551 Texas Government State Code).  The criminal complaint alleges that Mr. Gonzales attended, and possibly organized, a private, by invitation only meeting, ostensibly intended to promote his campaign and increase his re-election funds.  Specifically in attendance from the Pflugerville City Council were Victor Gonzalez (Mayor Pro Tem and Councilmember Place 5), Starlett Sattler (Councilmember place 4), Mike Marsh (Councilmember Place 2), and Wayne Cooper (Councilmember Place 1) and the current Mayor Jeff Coleman.  The complaint also alleges city related matters such as but not limited to Light Rail were discussed at the private fundraiser.   One City Councilmember Darelle White (City Councilmember place 3) was not on the guest list, nor in attendance.
The Erica Grignon for City Council Campaign is very concerned about these allegations of possible law violations.  We will be monitoring the process of this investigation closely.

Booth at Deutschen Pfest This Weekend!

The Pflugerville Liberty Lovers are having  a booth for the second year in a row. We are giving away free pocket Constitutions, flyers, dvds, magazines, as well as selling an assortment of bumper stickers from Liberty Stickers. We had a very sucessful booth last year and think this year is going to be even better. This is a three day event from Friday May 15th through Sunday May 17th.

We need people to come and help staff the booth again. Two hour shifts would be ideal but we would appreciate any time that you have. Help setting up and taking down the booth will also be needed.

Also, we have a chipin to help cover the costs. Generous contributions have already covered most of the 175.00 booth fee but DVD's and flyers can get expensive. Please donate some $$$ if you can't help staff the booth. It would be greatly appreaciated! http://pflugervillero...

Please contact Erica Grignon if you would like to volunteer to help staff the booth. 512-351-2452 erica_grignon@suddenlink.net
